About The Club

Continuing the tradition of social and comp tennis in Carrington, this latest incarnation of the club has been charged with the revitalisation of the Carrington tennis courts.

To date we have had the old derelict clubhouse removed, specialist root barrier work carried out to protect the courts from the Fig Trees and to ensure the long term survival of the Fig Trees, replacement fencing and refurbished fencing work carried out, the asphalt was prepared for a new playing surface to be installed (which is happening right now), new nets installed, new electrical distribution board and switches for the lights, a new shade structure constructed and new furniture installed.

Through successful campaigning we finally received enough funding to have our two courts totally resurfaced with a full, professional playing surface. This was installed in August/Sept 2013 and the official re-opening was held in December 2013. The Carrington Tennis Club would like to thank Port Waratah Coal Services ( for their generous support and for providing valuable funding for the refurbishment of the court surface.

The courts are looking the best they have in a very long time and are being used again by the local public school as a part of their school sport curriculum. We are also running after school Tennis Hot Shots programs for the local children and are developing more coaching programs for the future.

With a growing club membership, our association with the Carrington Bowling Club (right next door) and one of the best locations in Newcastle, this is the tennis club you want to be a part of. Just get in contact with us and come down for a hit...
